a special sunday, easter’s coming, and sharefest
So I’m really looking forward to this Sunday! If you were around on Palm Sunday last year you’ll remember the worship service our imagination team put together around stations for prayer (it ranks in my top 10 for all time favorite nights at Life). This year we will be doing something similar, tying together the themes from the last five weeks of Lent, and ordering them around prayer and reflection. The idea is to take whatever God has been teaching us through Lent and solidify it, and to prepare our hearts as we move into Easter. It will be a powerful night.
Also, Easter is right around the corner (Apr 24). Our worship gathering will be at 10am at the Thorrington home (flyer attached). It’s been said that ours has to be one of the most picturesque venues anywhere for an Easter service, and I have to agree. We’re deeply blessed by the Thorrington’s hospitality. Great day to bring a friend.
And one more item for your calendar: Sharefest is May 14th. If you’re just getting to know Sharefest, this is a unique and important organization. For seven years now (as a new church we were blessed to be one of its founding churches) Sharefest has mobilized the church to serve the city in meaningful ways in Christ’s name. This year Elizabeth and team have put us on a very worthy project – a school in Wilmington that needs some improvements. This is a great opportunity to serve Jesus and those he loves, and a great venue to bring friends to as well.
The Christian life is about being in community, on mission, as we learn what is to lives as disciples of Jesus. I’m so blessed to do that life with you guys. Lord bless you friends, and we’ll look forward to being with you this weekend –
