Book Study: A Letter to My Anxious Christian Friends by David P. Gushee (all)

Blurb about the book: The last few years have seen dizzying social change in the United States. Many of these changes—such as the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage—seem to challenge or overturn long-standing Christian teachings, while disputes over issues such as immigration, racism, and the abuse of police authority create uncertainty and confusion about what a faithful Christian response looks like. Small wonder, then, that the dominant mood among many Christians is anxiety about what it means to be a follower of Jesus in the world today.

Is it important for us to be equipped for works of service? For us as a body to be built up and strengthened? To reach unity in faith? To become mature believers?

Ephesians 4 tells us that Jesus gave good gifts to us, and He gave them so that we can obtain the above.

Bible Study (all)

1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month (twice monthly) | 7:30pm | @ Torrance

Contact: mclittles[at]

Description: This Bible study is open to all. We will simply be reading through a book of the Bible (TBD) at a slow pace and discussing it verse by verse in community with each other. Our hope is that this study is led and influenced by the Holy Spirit and that, through interacting with the scriptures together, our understanding of God will be strengthened, expanded, and deepened as we discuss and look closely at scriptures that we may have sped read through in the past.
